POLIS Ensemble was founded in December 2011 (initially as Orchestra of Anatolian Music POLIS) in Athens. The word "polis" tries to photograph the cities of the eastern Mediterranean, the music of which never ceased to inspire the band members.
POLIS Ensemble has performed in important concert halls (Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Philippos Nakas Conservatory Concert Hall) and has been invited in many Greek Music Festivals.
During last five years, the band had the pleasure and honour to collaborate with the Polyphonic Choir of Patras, as well as with exceptional artists (Christos Tsiamoulis, Katerina Papadopoulou, Manos Achalinotópoulos, Zacharias Karounis, Aretí Ketimé, Chronis Aidonídis, Nectaria Karantzí & Theodosia Stiga).
The discography of the band consists of one album and many guest appearances. POLIS Ensemble concerts and recordings have received great reviews to significant musical e-magazines.
